Frequently Asked Questions

What can I put in a skip?

You can put most household and garden waste in a skip, including furniture, carpets, wood, metal, soil, rubble, and general DIY waste. However, certain items are prohibited including asbestos, plasterboard, mattresses, electrical items (fridges, TVs), batteries, tyres, paint, chemicals, and hazardous materials. If you do put prohibited items in the skip, additional charges may apply.

Do I need a permit?

A permit is legally required if the skip will be placed on public land such as a road or pavement. If you can place the skip on your own property (driveway, garden), you do not need a permit. We can arrange the permit for you, and the additional fee will be shown during the booking process. Failure to purchase a permit when placing a skip on public land may leave you liable to fines from your local council.

How long can I keep the skip?

We provide hire periods of upto a maximum of 14 days. In some areas, this may be shorter due to local availability.

Do you provide your own skips?

We are a skip broker, meaning that we use a network of approved and licenced providers to fulfill the service on our behalf. We will source a suitable provider for you that can offer a combination of best price and best performance.

What if I overfill the skip?

For safety and legal transport reasons, skips must not be filled above the rim level. Overfilled skips cannot be collected and may incur additional charges. Please ensure all waste is level with the top of the skip.

Can I change my delivery/collection date?

Yes, you can change your delivery or collection date up to 24 hours before the scheduled delivery/collection. Please contact us as soon as possible to arrange a new date. Changes made within 24 hours may incur a rescheduling fee.
